Hey, how is it going? What made you decide on your major? What factors did you consider before declaring one? Did you pick your major because that is where the money is or because your interested to learn about the subject and would love to do it for a long time? If you were given some other opportunities, what other majors would you consider? Are you good at doing something, but chose not to major on it and just do it for fun? If your already in the program of your choice, do you see yourself doing this for the long time or just for a short while?
I wanted to be a history teacher. The commission in NY wouldn't cover my education. I was not knowledgable about grants and loans, so ended up getting a marketing degree. its okay, but i know I was meant to teach. this has proven itself to be true, when I supervised and helped people learn braille and other things, I discovered I could teach.
I was undecided on my major when I first went to college. There was so many things I was good at, and I finally decided on political science after taking classes in things I was interested in. I have always been big in politics but didn't think before college that I would want to do something with it. Reporting it, maybe, but not working for the government, that's for sure. Although I luv it, therefore that's y I chose it, I hear that government jobs r growing, which is great for me!
I chose music therapy, but a change may be in store, because the four-year school i had wanted to switch to, might have to close their program down due to lack of funding, or something like that. I don't know what is happening with that, but hopefully, something should suffice after this upcoming month. I really hope they can keep it. if music therapy has to go out the window, then maybe a high school guidance counsilor could be an okay job for me.
I wanted to do music therapy because ... well, just so I don't sound like a broken record, that info can be found in my text profile.
I was admitted into a couple of english secondary education programs out of high school, but decided to go to community college to save money. I did an internship at a local group of radio stations because I was interested in broadcasting. I did fine in the internship, but the local broadcasting school would not let me enroll because of my visual impairment. The school was privately funded and could get away with it. I realized that social work was my calling and I love it because I can work in any field. I would have to attend trainings and seminars throughout my career, but it’s completely worth it. My choice of employment turned out to be a good decision because of the way the economy is going. Social workers will always be needed. I am helping a visually impaired student learn to speak English so I’m still putting my interests to work. I will never stop loving music and that broadcasting school probably had to answer to somebody because radio stations don’t just hand out internships to anyone.
